Horse Named Texas on CD

Country music trailblazer Aaron Watson's most ambitious album yet, Horse Named Texas, is slated for a March 6th, 2026, release. "I'm really excited for everyone to hear Horse Named Texas. I've poured my heart into this album, and it truly means a lot to me" says Watson. Across twenty-six songs, each co-written by Watson, he delivers music that speaks to longtime fans while capturing the attention of a new generation of listeners. At the album's heart is the title track, "A Horse Named Texas," a self-portrait disguised as a cowboy tale. Watson likens his journey to an honest, faithful horse-steady, spirited, and relentless-one that has carried him from dusty honky-tonks to the front lines of modern country, transforming the Honky Tonk-Kid into a trailblazer in country music. In the sentimental song "Old Houses," he tips his hat to the foundation that built him-faith, family, and friends, while tracks such as "Same Here" and "Good Old Days" take audiences down familiar backroads. The full throttle track, "Pontiac (So Tell Me Momma)," paints the picture of a son who's the spitting image of his father, seeking advice from his mom on how to turn his relationship around the way his dad did. Among the album's most poignant pieces is "Gone Fishin'," which reimagines loved ones not as gone forever, but simply casting lines in a better place.
