Tina Parkhurst on CD

Tina's life has been filled with music from day one. Tina's father is a talented keyboard player and her mother had what Tina describes as 'a golden voice, a lot like Judy Garland.' Growing up, the house was filled with music; from her parents' jazz, blues, country, classical, and standards - to her brothers' classic rock. Tina grew to love and appreciate many styles of music, including the country genre that would call to her later. During elementary school and high school Tina often sang solos with her school choirs as well as acting in high school and local drama productions. Tina sang for many years with barbershop groups, often as a featured soloist. While she enjoyed singing with others, after a while she longed to develop her own career, voice, and style. A few years passed until she would strike out alone on her singing career, but now that she has, she has hit the ground running. This songstress never looks back and is ready to take the world by storm. When Tina began planning her five-song demo CD, which she spent two weeks producing and recording in the summer of 2000, she was approached by several songwriters who wanted their material added to Tina's own collaborations. Nobody could have anticipated the market reaction Tina's first release to radio. With no label backing, Tina's first single 'When Did 'I Do?'' immediately premiered on the New Music Weekly chart as the 'Hidden Secret'. It was in the 'Next Up' section the following week. Soon, the song made it's debut on M-PAK Productions 'Country Indie Trax Countdown' at number 69 in the United States and would climb quickly. After a recent approach by Frank Fara of Comstock Records, Tina's new CD will also be promoted to radio stations overseas, covering Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. What's next for Tina? She says, 'I've already spent enough time doing things that I didn't love, trying to make a living. Now I'm going to change that. I don't know that there's anybody out there who's more excited, motivated, and more ready to make some great music, get on a good label, and tour. I've done everything that I've done so far without a conventional label deal. With the right team, I'm unlimited! The record company that I sign with will never be sorry that they made that deal!'
