E for Edward / Pure / Et Dieu Crea la Femme [Import] on CD

Digitally remastered two CD set containing a trio of albums from Edward Ball and his Mod/Pop outfit the Times, originally released on the Creation Records label: E for Edward (1989), Et Dieu Crea La Femme (1990) and Pure (1991)..These albums signaled the beginning of a new prolific song writing/recording period for Edward Ball and the Times on at a time when True Independent Pop was never more celebrated. Edward Ball's Times were already renowned in the early '80s for genre-defining works like I Helped Patrick McGoohan Escape, Pop Goes Art! And This Is London. The Times evolved in the 1990s with albums which were considered seminal 'independent pop crossover' when only the Stone Roses' first album offered any contemporary equivalent. Moreover, Pure, the last of this trilogy, prefaced Times' label mates Primal Scream's Screamadelica by six months. Cherry Red. 2009.
