Fix has a powerful and appealing voice, and her songs deal with the problems and compromises that one has to make in this modern world of ours... One of the new wave of modern female songwriters who can rock, as well as play it soft and be equally as effective both ways.' Goldmine - April 2001 'Survival is that rare drink of water in the desert, that diamond in the rough. It is a record that truly deserves to be heard from America's next big pop star, Stefanie Fix' The All Music Guide gave 'SURVIVAL' 4 stars and call's Fix's work "edgy and confident ' -Alex Henderson "With SURVIVAL, a mature Stefanie Fix makes good on the shiny promise of her early recordings. The voice is full and knowing now: powerful without pushing, on the edge without fear of falling. Variously personal, political, soulful and outright rocking, Fix holds her own in front of a truly stunning studio band led by the always impressive Larry Cambell." -Marilyn Rae Beyer /Music Director WUMB Radio Network/Boston, MA "Fix writes, sings and plays with passion, and her obvious debt to some of the best songwriters of the age only puts her in good company." -Todd Paul/Chronogram "She possesses a unique instrument, a rich, strong alto that puts an exclamation point after the word "folk". SURVIVAL is a well-penned collection of thoughtful songs in the true spirit of the singer/songwriter". -Kate Goldsmith/Taconic Weekend 'Stefanie Fix expresses sincere, personal emotions through her fluid songs. But it's her sharp and resonant voice that takes her messages and delivers them right to the heart.'-Andrew DiGiovanni/Program Director WKZE/Sharon,CT With Survival, Stefanie Fix truly comes of age. Fix has a sound and vision to be reckoned with. She sings and writes from a place of empowerment; addressing our hopes, our fears and our struggles. She does this without apology, but with a depth and insight so direct you're bound to find a piece of yourself in any number of these songs. She has been described as a truth seeker and a truth seer, who is able to paint pictures of universal understanding through her songs. A close friend, (after hearing her sing), once described her as, "A really big women, trapped in a tiny body". Stefanie's strength and power as an artist comes from her uncompromising conviction. She's also an accomplished guitar player transitioning easily from percussive strumming to melodic picking to slide guitar. With Survival Stefanie Fix proves she's one of those rare birds that can successful merge instinct with craft. Currently, Stefanie is living in Austin, Texas where she continues to perform regularly both solo and with her full studio band. Stefanie has just complete what is her third studio recording, Crook Smile. Find right here on CDBaby!
