Way I Feel on CD

I've been writing off and on since I learned how to spell. Any time I needed an outlet for something I was feeling or, something I was going through, it became habit to put it all into words. After awhile, I felt like if I was going to continue to do this, it would be a good idea to really do it well. So I enrolled into a singer/songwriter seminar. I really learned quite a bit about the 'Craft' of songwriting. It became easier to put what I was feeling into not just words, but into a story with melody and meter. Anyway, after years of warning my wife about someday getting together my best stuff and recording a CD, it finally has happened. I pinched every penny and dime together I could find and headed up to Nashville. (Well, it wasn't that quick and easy, but I'm trying to make a REALLY long story short) I recorded in a studio called Landshark (Now- Sonic Eden), and the musicians were some of the best that Nashville has to offer. So, let me tell you a bit about this collection. I'll keep it to six in the interest of space. 'Ocean and Sand' I thought it would be a good idea to open the CD with a song about living in Florida. I spent almost half my life living up north, and I honestly DO NOT miss snow. Ok, maybe on Christmas Day. But on December 26th? Nope!!! 'Hot Tamale' Well, ok. I didn't write this one. I met Joe Renda here in Florida. He produced 'The Jerky Boys', and has worked with the likes of Chip Taylor and Ace Frehley. Joe came up with this great line for a song 'My Hot Tamale went Chili on me' and told his friend, songwriter Larry Russell Brown (Tie a Yellow Ribbon). Larry thought it would be a great song, so he got together with a friend of his, songwriter Randy Boudreaux (Alibis, Brokenheartsville) and here you have it. 'Hot Tamale' Joe gave me permission to record it, and we really had a great time doing that one!! 'The Way I Feel' My wife and I have been together for quite a few years, and I thought it was about time that I told her how I still feel. This is a duet with Diana DeWitt, who is currently working with Neil Young and Emmylou Harris. 'Dancing With Angels' This is a story song. And since everybody asks 'What was the painting of?' I'll just tell you. It's a painting of Heaven. Now go listen to the song.'Sing You My Heart' Well, this is one I wrote to my wife during a time that wasn't so great. It's one of those '2-in-the-morning-I'm- so-frustrated-I-can't-stand-it' kind of songs. But everything worked out fine. (See 'The Way I Feel'). 'First Gift of Christmas' This is my favorite song on the CD. I love Christmas. Well, that's it. I hope you like them all. Feel free to email me! I'd love to hear from you. If You'd like to hear more. I co-write with Brett McMullen. His lyrics, my music. Check us out on CD Baby!!!
