Pressing the Flesh & Other Steps to Success
- Artist: Practically Einstein
- Format: CD
- Release Date:7/11/2006
This is the third release from the Arlington, VA band that showcases it's maturing sound, ever-evolving from the eclectic influences of four life-long rock and roll fans. Pressing the Flesh and Other Steps to Success (whose title is a tongue-in-cheek stab at the corporate world) was recorded with producer Scott Spelbring (who has worked with Dave Matthews, Citizen Cope, Butch Walker) at his home studio, at the peak of a steep and windy hill in picturesque rural Virginia. The surrounding beauty, however, did little the alleviate the arduous task of turning four brand new distinctly-themed song ideas into a cohesive work. Long hours were spent and many snacks and beverages consumed. After the fellas finished tracking, they decided to take the songs to a fresh ear, and Eamon Loftus at C&C Studios seemed like the right choice. Fresh off of sessions with Fat Joe of all people, he was ready to get back to rock and roll. After the mixing process, the songs were shipped to Dave Harris at Studio B Mastering (Rev. Horton Heat, Guadalcanal Diary) in Charlotte, NC for final mastering. Meanwhile, local graphic guru Oslo put together the artwork. Hurry and add this to your collection! Hurry hurry!
