Impossible Dream on CD

The Jr. Philharmonic is one of the oldest and most honored young people's symphony orchestras in the United States. It was founded in Los Angeles on January 22, 1937 by it's conductor, Dr. Ernst Katz and performs before capacity audiences in Southern California's finest venues including the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion of the Los Angeles Music Center, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Kodak Theatre and Shrine Auditorium. The exceptional young musicians of the 115 member Jr. Phil, under the direction of concertmaster Gary S. Greene, created an exciting, moving and memorable recording of popular classics to Broadway musicals. Mr. Greene is an accomplished violinist and conductor. He joined the Jr. Phil in 1963 and since 1967 has served as concertmaster. He has conducted the orchestra in most major classical works as well as popular pieces for legendary performers such as Debby Boone, Pat Boone, Richard Fredricks, Robert Goulet, Peter Graves, Florence Henderson, Carol Lawrence, Brock Peters, Stefanie Powers, Debbie Reynolds, Sha Na Na and Michael York.
