Once Free on CD

Take a burst of spontaneity, five frat boys, a dirty garage basement, and a few instruments later, and you have the origins of Pete Killed Pete. These aspiring musicians met at the University of Pittsburgh, where the guys began surprising the Pittsburgh scene in October of 2002. As the idea to form the band took root, the various elements fell into place. Pete Killed Pete (PKP) got underway performing at local parties and fraternities throughout the college town of South Oakland, and frequently appearing as Peters Pub's House Band. PKP progressively began playing throughout the regional scene with well-known local band, The Delaney's, along with scores of others including The Drive Home, Uncle Sam and Epic Record's original Phantom Planet. Not only do the guys continue to entertain local audiences, they also use their mutual passion of music raising money for charity. PKP joined 5 other bands in helping to raise more than $5,000 for the Pediatric AIDS Foundation with their alma mater, Pitt. Their first EP, Once Free, is set to be released May 15th. This 6-song record, including originally written tracks 'Strange Dayz' and 'Pale', hopes to prove that they have what it takes make fans worldwide. Unleashing a wide range of songs, the band's musicianship is quite obvious. With the release of their first album, the guys plan on captivating even more live audiences, becoming Pittsburgh's newest rock phenomenon. Pete Killed Pete has been heard throughout many eminent venues in the area, including Hard Rock Café, Nicks Fat City, Club Laga, Sports Rock, even on jukeboxes at local Oakland bars. With the launching of 'Once Free', you soon can hear PKP on the airwaves of WXDX 105.9 as well as the University of Pittsburgh's WPTS 92.1 College Radio Station. Whether you hear PKP playing at a local bar, or have heard them playing a gig at your neighbors' party, the band continues to entertain. What started as some strumming around in the garage, turned into Pete Killed Pete!
