Pull It Down
- Artist: Payne's Grey
- Format: CD
- Release Date:4/9/2002
The genre deifying music of Payne's Grey has been described as strange and hauntingly beautiful. The band claims to not understand what genre they should be classified in and only say that they strive to make interesting and honest music that would be enjoyed by people who appreciate a subtle melancholy and ornate texture. Payne's Grey was established in 1992 and is based in Dallas, Texas. Murdock Scott is the lyricist and primary vocalist, Shawn O'Neill plays guitar and is a contributing lyricist. They share credit for all other instrumentation as well as composing and arranging the songs. The eight interwoven songs on Pull It Down often touch on the darker aspects of life but somehow turn each over like a stone in the garden revealing the earthy beauty of the wet underside crawling with life. The songs compel us to believe that passion and depth of emotion is necessary to being human. Murdock has promised he will be in a more upbeat mood for the next collection of songs being worked on.
