Methuselah on CD

Methuselah is an acoustic folk rock CD inspired by desert folklore, such as Biddy Mason, a courageous woman and healer who won her freedom from slavery in Los Angeles in the late 1800s, migrant workers making the dangerous journey across the AZ/Mexican border in the summer months, and an enormous redwood in the Santa Cruz Mountains named Methuselah. Methuselah was recorded at Wavelab Studios in Tucson, AZ, engineered and mixed by the legendary Craig Schumacher, and electric guitar, organ and vibraphone played by local musician Nick Luca, giving Methuselah Wavelab's signature touch of analog warmth and spontaneity. I was born in Miami, FL and lived in Georgia and Connecticut. I moved to Berkeley, CA for the summer of 2000 and then traveled around the West. I discovered Santa Cruz and lived there for nine months, playing my first solo gigs at the youth hostel on Beach Hill and at a bar called the Poet and Patriot. From there, I rode north to Arcata and then took a cross country trip. I landed in Tucson, where I hunkered down to write and record my first CD, and open shows for artists such as Dave Alvin and Neko Case.
