Define a New Beginning on CD

Together, OutSet writes and produces original music that they like to call 'musical bliss' in the self-created genre of 'fun rock.' They believe that the music should be something that people can relate to and sing along with. With vocalist/guitar player Phil Murphy, bassist Susan Steen, drummer/percussionist Josh Dannin and lead guitar player Brett Talley, Outset is the definition of alternative and pop rock music that is needed in the world of music today. Their unique sound can be attributed to the vast amount of talent in the band. Along with Phil, Sue and Brett are also singer/songwriters giving the band more expertise in the areas such as hooks or melodies. Also being an avid fan of music and a knowledgeable percussionist, Josh has a great ear for beats and rhythms and always provides the appropriate groove for each track. Each of the four work together, adding their unique style and giving the music a 'best of all worlds' type feel. This also provides for large musical diversity making the band's originality hard to describe and not easily comparable to others. OutSet celebrates the positive side of life and exuberates optimism with hopeful lyrics and music that implores you to listen. Their message is simple: enjoy life and find love in the small things. What could be a more important message at this present time in the world? Philadelphia's Origivation Magazine states of OutSet, "Young, focused, ambitious, and hungry...with their consistent regional touring and smart hook driven song writing this band could very well graduate to a local power house or even a solid recording deal.'
