Only a Dream on CD

Old School Abbey is excited to announce the release of their new album 'Only A Dream' being released March 15th 2009. Produced @ Mission Bells Studio in San Francisco, CA with David Simon-Baker. The full length album is boasting 15 new tracks and featuring guest appearances by Jackie Greene. Tim Blum of The Mother Hips. Zach Gill (Jack Johnson), Dave Brogan and Dan Lebowitz of ALO. Old School Abbey's sound has been described as sounding "the way rock should-unpolished and bustling with energy..." A young band out of Beckley, West Virginia. Teeming with knowledge, they own a sound long missing from the music scene; a desire and passion long forgotten by the mainstream. Tinges of Ben Harper, Dave Matthews, Keller Williams, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, and a whole host of acoustic solo rockers drip all over the sound Old School Abbey, but a delightful electric twist adds a new sort of energy. Twin acoustic guitar rhythms layered underneath reinforce the organic quality of a band that seems to be ready to break out at any moment. OSA finds their sound just as fitting on a preteen's iPod as it does from a bar full of smoke and liquor. They will pass your time on a long drive, and they will bring the crowd to your campsite at your next music festival. OSA drives a sound from Beckley to the masses and speaks in a language that breathes as clearly into the ears of the music aficionado as the pop radio crowd. OSA is based in Beckley, with sights on the world. Although their live act has generated much buzz, Old School Abbey has also received critical acclaim for it's first independently released album, selling over 3,500 copies within it's first year and a continuing great response with a partnership with iTunes. Also, being Featured in the April/May 2008 issue of Relix Magazine with thier Track 'Lay Dow'.With the release of 'Girl Like You' (The bands first album) in January of 2007, Old School Abbey kicked off an ambitious spring/summer tour playing over 100 shows in cities such as Baltimore, MD; Washington, DC; Louisville, KY; Virginia Beach, VA; Charlotte, NC ; Birmingham, AL ; Blacksburg, VA Morgantown, WV; Huntington, WV and Myrtle Beach, SC. The band has shared the stage with a multitude of diverse acts including: The Spin Doctors (Uptown/Universal), Vertical Horizon (Hybrid Recordings), The Clarks, Members of Rusted Root (Real.Life.Records), Omni-soul/The Crash Motive (Wind-Up Records), The Varsity, The Hint, Five Star Iris and many other talented artists of the time. Old School Abbey also strives upon it's strong College and University fanbase performing for such schools as : Marshall University, Goucher College, Salem College, Concord University, Radford University, Virginia Tech University, West Virginia University, West Virginia Tech, NYU. University of Maryland ...& many more TAXI, the worlds leading independent A&R Company has called Girl Like You 'a triumph', and has said the 'solid chemistry of the band exhibits that they are ready to take a larger step into the world'. Reviewer Brian Showalter of 102.3 WMTD-FM, states that O.S.A has a knack for writing upbeat acoustic/pop/rock numbers a la Howie Day and Jack Johnson', going so far to call the group 'The Hottest College Rock Band on the East Coast'. Rick Rizer of WCIR calls O.S.A 'Absolutely Fabulous- O.A.R meets John Mayer'. Graffiti Magazine (A West Virginia statewide publication) gave Girl Like You 4 out 5 stars saying 'songs like Common Knowledge and Girl Like You will take this group far'. If these reviews are any indication, Old School Abbey is on the verge of stardom. Instrumentation Nick Durm - Rhythm Guitar (Acoustic), Vocals Matt Mullins - Rhythm Guitar (Acoustic), Vocals Matt Gibson - Lead Guitar (Electric) Leo Moore - Drums & Percussion, Vocals Dave Snodgrass - Bass Guitar.
