Aware EP on CD

'Aware' is the latest release from Obedientbone, one of the freshest bands to emerge in recent years. A unique hybrid of beats n breaks; rock & dark-pop 'Aware' has been described as "'Moloko' picking a fight with 'The Prodigy'". Their new EP, the truest representation yet of the bands live energy, is a genre defying collection of dark addictive anthems. From the pop, punk acidity of 'Aware' & 'Tendril' through the ethereal & lush sonics of 'Mind', to the fragile vs explosive contrast of 'Unstable' & 'LBM remix'. Reflecting the bands myriad experiences, influences & the current world/musical climate, the Aware EP provides the perfect antidote for all genre weary ears. --------------- FULL BAND BIOGRAPHY Obedientbone are a 3-piece band/production team based in the South-West who write/produce & perform a unique hybrid of beats n breaks/Hip-Hop/Rock & dark-pop. They started life 5 years ago as a studio-based project, the band were becoming increasingly tired of the formulaic approach that the drum n bass scene seemed to be taking at the time and decided to experiment with more organic ideas and live instrumentation. The first success for this new direction was the release of their 12" single "Tendril" which featured MC DARRISON, which was picked up by MG ROVER for use on an advertisement. This early success helped finance the band's studio and enabled the guys to start spending much more time on writing and looking for a full time vocalist. In 2002 the band were introduced by a mutual friend to singer/songwriter Demelza and from that point Obedientbone's sound started to become what it is today. After months of lockdown in the studio experimenting with technology and how to fuse it with the band members multi-instrumental capabilities they emerged with their debut, self-produced & self- titled album. The album received critical acclaim and it's songs helped the band win the Diesel-U-Music Award 2004 which included a live performance as well as the award ceremony itself @ Fabric, London which has been televised numerous times on Channel 4 & MTV. Presenting the award was Radio 1 DJ Edith Bowman who introduced Obedientbone as "The best band you've never heard of!". The national press, most notably "The Independent" newspaper, picked up on the buzz surrounding the band & ran full length feature interviews with the headline " The Future of British Urban Music". News of the award spread far and wide and tracks from the album started to find their way onto British & International radio playlists. Obedientbone have built a reputation as one of the freshest, and most exciting live bands around with a truly compelling, unique sound.
