When someone asks you about Jazz, most of the names you will mention are artists who have long since disappeared from the spectrum. Not in the last few decades have there been many record releases that entertain jazz listeners...until now. Seasoned jazz veterans Jerry and Louis Lucarelli make a fusion-esque stab at the Billboards with their latest release New Millennium Jazz Project. Jerry, with a long list of credentials as a pianist, organist, composer, arranger, director, and music educator brings his style of no-nonsense cool jazz and old school rock together to mix with his brother Louis, a music educator for over 20 years and one of the only classically trained vibraphonists left gigging. Together, they create a sound, which many have described as intensely captivating, fresh, and somehow soothing at the same time. For this record, they enlisted the help of Keith Moorhouse on drums and percussion, and Herb Marshall and Bruce Wallace on bass. Still not convinced? Together, the brothers were recipients of the ASCAP Plus Winners for 2004 through 2006. With a gaining reputation around Pittsburgh's jazz radio, and an already impressive following around Pittsburgh, come on and check it out!
