Dying to Please You on CD

It's all about the song. A good song will withstand extreme simplicity and still reach it's audience. How else would you explain the success of the music of Johnny Cash, for instance? And by the same token, a weak song won't be redeemed by any amount of recording prowess or post production trickery. I was born the son of a Baptist preacher, and my grandfather also was a Baptist preacher. I just didn't fit the mold and never felt comfortable speaking in public, but I have a lot to say. I find that music, for me, is the best vehicle to communicate deep truth. If you're listening....music can touch you in deeper ways than mere words. The truth sometimes collides with our common religious practices. There is no peace in procedures or rituals. Freedom comes only in a real relationship with God through Christ. I hope you get the message of this CD, and I also hope you enjoy the ecclectic variety of music on it. Many influences have textured my music. Bands like 38 Special, Journey, Boston, Foreigner, Mother's Finest, Molly Hatchet and Lynyrd Skynyrd. This stuff comes from all over the place. I love the southern rock sound. You know- music that's not over-produced and saturated with every possible effect you can find. In my opinion, good songs are becoming harder and harder to come by. I got the lyrics from God, but I must confess, I stole some of the music from the Devil...AND REDEEMED IT! Enjoy!
