Tuffer Than War on CD

Mystafine is a five piece band formed at Hampshire College in 2005. Tuffer Than War is their debut CD of original music. The music is a combination of roots reggae, hip hop, funk, and soul. Guitarist Adam Zucker lays down steady reggae skanks and grooves, and plays leads in a unique style that are pure fire blaze. Singer Julian Albo brings conscious lyrics to the meditation, he's been singing in reggae and socca bands since ten years ago in his high school in Trinidad. Keyboardist Dan Berg brings the jazzy stylee into the mix with original tunes like Trashbag Lady, and brings the reggae bubble to new heights on the entire CD. Bassist John Chao holds tight solid grooves that have a melodic sweet quality while locking into the drums everytime. Drummer Gabe Roth plays like tight thunder, keeping the time and giving the people a beat to dance to. The CD has some hard hitting roots reggae tracks like Tuffer Than War, Color Me Dread, Music Never Stop, Protect I, and Livin Free; as well as three reggae dubs. Son of the Almighty and Eternal Love are two soul tunes, Eternal Love is a beautiful ballad. Trashbag Lady and Mysta Hop are two songs that are Funk and Hip Hop stylee. Mystafine lives in the Amherst, MA region, and has played concerts in Amherst, Northampton, Vermont, Boston, Salem and Philadelphia. They love spreading their music out to people, and hope that the conscious positive vibe is absorbed and manifested.
