I'm a singer and songwriter from Oregon. I started playing guitar when I found my uncles in the garbage. I fixed it and the rest is history. I started writing songs after my return from Vietnam. I was grown from the roots of Nez Perce, down to earth outdoors men and hard workers in a time when hard work was the way of life. I believe in the spiritual aspect of life. I am a Vietnam Veteran and being in harms way and seeing the true wages of war by standing shoulder to shoulder with the cruelty, hate and loss of life of war showed me the values of freedom and the sacredness of life in a way without it I'd have never known. War is something that mankind must remove from his existence or war will remove man from existence. On the same token are the facts that man through his greed and selfishness is destroying the source of his existence, his environment. I believe that we, our children and future generations desperately need to rekindle the spiritual values that have been and are being left in the dust of progress due to the absence of spirit, the inability to find peace and the neglect of the breath and foundation of life it's self, Creation. Music is a gift and a medium. I do my best to use it to share these values and thoughts. I sing also of the joy of love and pain of loosing it. The sharing of my music on this album was made possible through the help of friends in Oregon, Texas and Nashville including my recently departed best friend, David (Spanky) Duke who performed on and produced this CD. This album is over ten years old now and even though the places and times have changed the meanings are the same and the songs never age. I hope you will enjoy them. New ones are on the way. Thanks for visiting. Monty Fisher Updated 1/29/2008.
