SHHH on CD

'The One Man Orchestra' Mir-0 (Mir Zero), by Miro Mantere, is part of the new generation of Finnish musicians and performers who have decided to make a small revolution in music making a marriage between real-time interactive electronics (live looping) and traditional musician performing skills. Multi-talented musician and producer, Mir-0 is graduated of the Helsinki Pop&Jazz Institute. His musical background includes everything from rock, glamour, punk, folk, klezmer, world, ambient music. In the 90's, he travelled the world collecting sounds, music and instruments, before embarking on a solo career, featuring original music compositions, live shows with an impressive gallery of instruments, a dynamic stage performance, where sounds, colours, images, movements create the perfect setting for top-notch voyages to please lovers of German 70's electronica, space and psychedelic rock - from Gong, Hawkwind, the Ozricks to Mike Oldfield, Steve Reich, Philip Glass, Bill Laswell. For Mir-0, there is not much to say about the music: " I let sounds create their own impressions onto listeners. If during a song one is feeling himself in the desert, while another is finding himself in a forest, I have succeeded." (Interview for Kaleva newspaper, September 2004, by Marko Sirviö). Debut album Shhh was released in 2005. Journalist Jussi Ahlroth of Helsingin Sanomat (national Finnish newspaper) declared : "Definitely working, hypnotic stuff. Mir-0 simply breaks boundaries between electronic and ethnic music. Totally."
