Where the Sun Always Shines on CD

' Mike Lennon Is Where The Sun Always Shines ' is Mike's Third CD for PRP records. This 12 song sampler features original songs Mike recorded between 1996 and 2008 and is a much rootsier effort than his first two CD's 'Too Many Psychos'and 'Save The Earth'. 'Reggae Billy Boogie' kicks off the album and might well be the first mixing of Reggae and Rockabilly. The song is about The Psychobillys gig at a club in Jamaica, Queens N.Y.in 1989 and the response of the primarily Caribbean audience.Tracks 2,3,4 'Where The Sun Always Shines,'So Lonely Over You'and 'Try To Understand' were first recorded in New York City at the Center for Media Arts and later overdubbed at Cerius studios in Tempe,Arizona in 1997.Thanks to Don Wilke who engineered the Cerius sessions for locating the original master tapes. 'Where The Sun Always Shines'was written before Mike had any thoughts of leaving New York and features Kenny Gwynne on Ld.Guitar and Dave Poppovich on Banjo.'So Lonely Over You' is another Western type song written at Mike's apartment on New York's Lower East Side.'Try To Understand' is a Buck Owens type tune with great Harmonies by . Tracks 5-7 were recorded in 2007-2008 at Jimmy Hornick's Psychobilly studios in Scottsdale,Arizona and feature The PsychoBilly Rodeo band.'Let Me Know' is written in the style of Hank Williams sr.and features Mike on piano.'Wayacross Town is a Rockabilly tune about an after the show encounter with a young groupie.'Yesterday Morning' is a Southern Rock song with great guitar by Ronnie Derossett and powereful drumming by Tom Christy.Tracks 8-12 'Let's Go To Show Low' 'So Far Away From Home' ' One Horse Town, Psycho Classico and 'She Only Wants To Be With Me' were originaly recorded in Phoenix,Arizona in 1995 with Mike on 12 string guitar 6 string guitar, keyboardsand Bass and Drum tracks.
