Mickey Foster of Mickey and Crew Beginnings My name is Mickey Foster. It all began at the age six when I was given my first piano lesson. I attended Edgar Allen Poe Junior High School. My interest in junior high was football and I was a member of the football team. In high school I turned my attention to music which had been my first love. Upon my entrance into high school I joined the Highland High School Marching Band and played the tenor saxophone. I remained in the marching band during my high school years. Music Debut During my second year, I had my own band named the Fabulous Five. The band was named The Fabulous Five because there were five members in the band. The instrument players consisted of drums, bass guitar, lead guitar, tenor saxophone and I played keyboards, also-sax and did vocals. Throughout my senior year in the band, I was second chair tenor saxophone player. I graduated from Highland High School in San Antonio, Texas. After high school graduation there was a change in the members and band name. The name of the band was changed from The Fabulous Five to Mickey and The Fabulous Five and later to Mickey and The Soul Generation. Turning Pro Mickey and The Soul Generation was one of the most popular bands in Texas and toured throughout that state. We toured predominately the east coast states including Louisiana, Ohio, New York, Philadelphia, Georgia, Florida, Oklahoma and other states. We toured with one of the most recognized bands namely, "Sam and Dave" and we did some warm up's for "James Brown". We played in many different night clubs, civic centers and auditoriums and appeared and performed on television. Mickey and The Soul Generation recorded a song entitled "Iron Leg" and Nipsy Russell performed the dance on one of the late night television shows. The record "Iron Leg" became number eighteen in the Record World Magazine hit list. There were other records recorded at a later date. "Iron Leg" along with other recordings was put on CD's and was sold in the United States and other countries. My Latest Project The new CD that is being presented is one of my most recent projects that I have worked tirelessly on and look forward to it becoming a hit. B. Foster is also featured with Mickey and Crew. He is from San Antonio, Texas. His specialty is "RAP". Just remember this is just the beginning. There is more to come!!
