Michael is an open and honest singer, songwriter and musician of a high caliber. Watching Michael play live will always leave you with a sense of being inspired by an impassioned musician, showing deep emotion in his playing. Michael has an appreciation for music that produced by people and not by technology. Though recognizing the inevitability of technology driving music and uses it himself, he chose to keep this recording live and fresh as much as possible. Michael desires to make music that can be trusted to be made by a person. He wishes to keep his music honest without the over use of software embellishment. This is Michael's first independently released solo album, an offering of songs reflecting a snapshot of his songwriting over the past 17 years. This album showcases Michael's comfort as performer and as an innovative acoustic guitarist reflected in songs such as Waves and Quite a Man. Jason Jackson from Terrebonne, OR is an accomplished Stand-Up Bass player that graciously accompanied Michael on this first release. Michael story tracks him across this country and back. He has a strong relationship to his family and the natural environments that have guided and inspired him. He was raised in Massachusetts, eventually living in Maine for an extended period of time but now resides in Cave Junction, Oregon. Michael's songs on this first release, Live at WineStyles reflect this relationship to nature, family and the self with songs such as Thoughts on the Way Down and Naturally to You. These songs are just an example of how Michael is able to take things such as a sense of place and belonging, love of another and the self and craft them into creative anthems that reflect the human experience.
