Welcome to Your World on CD

Soul is a most elusive sensation, like love-something that has to be felt. But when you are in the grips and midst of soul, well, then you know it. As a prolific songwriter, Michael has drawn upon the sounds and rhythms of his youth-from the American textures of jazz, blues, and pop, to the R&B song craft of Muscle Shoals and Fame studios, to the gospel roots of his childhood. You will find the evidence of these influences on 'Welcome to Your World,' his second album on his own Grab A Mic Records, but Michael feels they're all different takes on the same thing. 'It's all music with feel,' says Michael. Real music. Soul music. Michael has performed with artists like Bonnie Raitt, the Chambers Brothers, Double Trouble, Roscoe Beck, and Malford Milligan (Storyville, Funky London, Boneshakers). He has toured throughout Texas, Arizona, California, and New York City with his own band. Backed by exceptional musicians, he lays out a fiery blend of adrenaline-charged funk-rock, infectious groove, and old-school soul. 'The Michael Bliss Band is all about playing live,' says Michael. 'When we hit that stage, we leave everything else behind. This is what we are about and who we are. Putting on a show just out of the joy we have for playing music.' Michael's second album, 'Welcome to Your World,' features guests Ivan Neville, Daryl Johnson, and Phil Keaggy. He is planning several tours to support the album.
