City Limits & State Borders on CD

Micah Jolly was born and raised in the live music capital of the nation: Austin, Texas. He began playing guitar at 14, and has since expanded his musical abilities to include the harmonica, piano, drums, and the occasional jaw harp. At 15, Micah began his performing career in the coffee shop scene with Kevin Gathright, making an unstoppable guitar duo phenomenon (which mostly consisted of catchy Jars of Clay acoustic covers). Eventually his endeavor's with Kevin (who also happened to be an amazing drummer) turned to the formation of their first band: Johnny Underwood. Along with Lauryn Steinburg on piano and DC Parr on bass, the fantastic foursome rocked the socks off many a Westwood student for a solid year. Some of these early live performances were recorded and are on sale for 2 gazillion dollars (you can ask my mom to make you a copy). Johnny Underwood however was not meant to last and the members went there separate ways. Micah went on to play a few more shows with Kevin, but nothing promising was headed their way. In the summer of 2004 Micah was given the chance to record an album at Music Lane. Micah decided to use the best musicians he knew to come record with him: Kevin Gathright, Lauryn Steinburg, and the addition of Shaun Gonzales on bass, and the talents of Sylvester Treadway on lead guitar. Unfortunately, they weren't able to complete the album before Micah moved out to Santa Barbara, California. Micah spent the next year in California going to school at Santa Barbara City College where he began to take recording classes. This next year gave him time to complete and perfect his album and on June 12, 2005 'City Limits and State Borders' was finally released. Currently Micah is in Tempe, Arizona attending the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences, in order to learn the recording/production side of the music industry. If you would like to get a copy of the album or if you would like to get on the mailing list then please e-mail him at micahjolly@yahoo.com.
