Flood Trust on CD

Matt Zimmerman is a Baltimore based musician who has been writing, recording, and performing music for the better part of his life. After working his way through a string of art-rock outfits through the 90's (such Nashville/Knoxville TN. Notables as Mindwalk, Seven, and most recently prog/pop group Another Wild Soulbook) he moved up to Baltimore to pursue a more solo oriented path. Melodic rock with Lush, acoustic backdrops and syncopated driving rhythm form the foundation of his latest EP, entitled "The Flood Trust." Highlighted by melodic piano passages and passionate, soulful vocals, Matt's sound has been described as " ...very original. Sung with honesty and integrity reminiscent of a young James Taylor, and supported by poignant guitar and piano harmonies..." A multi-instrumentalist, Matt plays all the different parts on this solo effort, with the exception of the drums, masterfully played by leading Baltimore based session giant John Thomakos (Doug Segree, Naked Blue). Produced by Mike McAree of Wrightway Studios, (SR-71, Fools and Horses), the quality of recording and production has been called [a] "...huge and far reaching sound spectrum. Richly textured with mellow, woodsy sounding passages interlaced with driving rhythm, and great drumming. Overall, a very deep, far reaching, and almost glacial sound." Matt can currently be seen playing live in and around the Baltimore/DC area.
