Description

Martyrs Shrine on CD

Martyrs Shrine is an extreme metal band from Melbourne, Australia, formed by Mike Forsberg (vocals/drums) and Michael Carlisle (guitar/bass) in 2005. Both members have recorded albums and toured extensively with some of Australia's most successful bands: MORTIFICATION - death metal pioneers and most successful/biggest selling Australian extreme metal band, RAGEWAR - Australian pioneer industrial band, CYBERGRIND and EXCARNNATED. Michael was an original member of the classic Mortification and played on their albums 'Moritifcation' (1991), 'Scrolls Of The Megilloth' (1992), 'Post Momentary Affliction' (1993) and 'Bloodworld' (1994). Mike played on the Cybergrind debut 'Transcend' and the 12th Mortification studio album 'Braincleaner' (2004). Both members have toured nationally and internationally. The Martyrs Shrine self-titled debut album features a unique blend of death/thrash metal and is a 50 minute culmination of years of songwriting, plus Michael and Mike's love for extreme metal in it's truest form. If you liked Mick and Mike's previous work with Mortification, you will love this album. The lads have gone back to their roots and recorded an old-school death metal album with modern production - just real instruments with real playing and great mixing. With Mick's distinctive signature guitar sound and Mike's unique death vocals, this is recommended for fans of early Mortification, Bolt Thrower and Napalm Death. A special guest appearance by Baz Bardoe of Sunsaria adds to the awesome sound of this debut.
