These songs sound more like Lawrence Welk than Mahalia Jackson, but Adu delivers them with a moving devotion and a rich, powerful voice.--Listen.com Music: Martin Adu - Biography Two of his own songs rub shoulders with a few well known pieces such as Archie Jordan's 'What a difference you made in my life' and Morris Chapman's 'Longtime Friends' -Cross Rhythms Magazine, February 2002 The one word that sprang to mind on first hearing 'I Have His Promise' is joy. This is truly an exhuberant, joyous song that works on a number of levels. The vocals are smooth and add weight to the insiprational lyrics. The band provides a perfectly blended backing. Very well recorded, with excellent clarity even on the low-res streaming version. No real downers to report here, just a pro-quality track that not incidentally is also a work of faith and spirituality. Do yourself a favor and listen to it! - mp3.com.au review.
