Are We There Yet? on CD

The Mark Harrison Quintet really 'kick it up a notch' with their second CD release, 'Are We There Yet?'. Keyboardist and composer Mark Harrison is joined by some of L.A.'s finest players, to create a sophisticated yet accessible contemporary jazz and funk mix. The melodies are memorable and the grooves will move you! From the hot R&B/funk feel of 'Fries With That', to the boogie-woogie-inspired 'Green Bananas', to the uplifting ballad 'Swing For The Fences'...this CD is truly a 'strong dose of jazz from many different angles', as noted in the Los Angeles Jazz Scene paper. Here is an introduction to the Quintet: Mark Harrison is a Keyboard Magazine columnist and a Grammy-winner endorsed educational author. He composes music for numerous TV shows and commercials, and has performed with top pros such as Jimmy Haslip, John Molo and Jay Graydon. Rick Rossi is a Grammy-nominated saxophonist who has performed with Ray Charles, Bobbie Caldwell, Brian Setzer, George Duke and many others. Mark Chosak is a noted L.A. guitarist and producer, and has worked with top pros such as Bob Sheppard, Ric Fierabracci, Jason Harnell and Bill Fulton. Steve Billman is a member of the bass faculty at the Los Angeles Music Academy, and has performed with Frank Gambale, Alex Acuna, Rob Mullins, Gary Novak and many others. Matt Starr is a member of the drum faculty at the Los Angeles Music Academy, and has performed with top pros such as Russell Ferrante, Steve Tavaglione, and Kevin Lettau. Here are some more reviewer comments about the Quintet: 'High energy and exciting' - Los Angeles Jazz Scene 'Uniquely inventive' - Jose Ruiz (Entertainment Today) 'The MHQ excels at contemporary jazz' - Music Connection.
