World Spinning on CD

Somewhere between Blue Cheer and Kumbaya there is a comfortable middle ground where you'll find the music of Michael Magliari and Jay Harker, which has been called "...almost a love letter to psychedelic pop-rock." Our music is original pop/rock, featuring strong vocals and full harmonies backed by acoustic and electric guitars, bass, keys, drums and percussion. We aim to create catchy melodies that stick with you, with interesting lyrics about life and love. We are part of "the Beatles generation" and cut our musical teeth many years ago playing in garage bands at high school sock-hops. Michael grew up in Kirkwood, Mo, and his conscious songwriting influences include Justin Haywood and Paul McCartney. Jay is originally from Ft. Wayne, Ind, and his songwriting is influenced by John Lennon and George Harrison. Both of us now live in the St. Louis area. "World Spinning" is our first album together and collects 14 of our best original songs. It includes fast songs and slow songs, loud songs and quiet songs, songs about the joy and pain of love, and songs about hope and strife and peace. It's difficult to compare our music to other artists', because no two songs are alike. But listeners say they are reminded of America, The Ocean Blue, and Seals & Crofts. One listener says: "Pretty much every track sounds like it came from NorCal in 1966-68 or London 1965 and 1971. ... There's a good heaviness to the tracks." Not bad for a couple of lawyers... Give us a listen. Share the love. Share the music. Peace.
