Look for the Silver Lining on CD

Lynette Margulies has sung professionally since the age of 14. From pop to R & B to soul to blues to jazz to Hebrew liturgical material, she has covered an eclectic gamut of musical genres. She has recorded on over a dozen projects as well as two of her own productions, "Lynette" and "Look For The Silver Lining". In the liner notes of Margulies' CD, "Look For The Silver Lining," Ben Sidran ("Life's A Lesson") writes "Lynette Margulies is a gifted jazz singer with a deeply ingrained blues feel, but when she began as an adult to sing the liturgical music from her childhood the emotional floodgates seemed to open. From that moment on, she has been in touch with a place in herself-and in all of us-that few singers ever reach. Lynette Margulies currently is involved with the group "Tongue 'n' Groove". She has returned to her soulful roots to deliver message oriented songs with a funky groove. To see and hear her in this venue is nothing short of joyous. Margulies has performed around the world joined by some of America's finest musicians-in Vienna, Austria with Howard Levy and Steve Khan; at Lincoln Center with Josh Redman, Danny Gottlieb and Rufus Reid; at the University of Wisconsin Theater with Phil Woods, Phil Upchurch and Richard Davis; in Chicago with Eddie Daniels, Mike Mainieri and Gil Goldstein-and in every instance, Lynette made a believer out of them. The power and commitment in her voice is undeniable, and her natural delight in singing this music is contagious. Lynette has worked with Tap It New Works on and off during the last three decades. More recently, she told her story of her journey through depression in an original show entitled "Soul Journey". The script was written by Danielle Dresden, of Tap It New Works. This passionate, humorous, and powerful piece made it's way to the International Festival of the Arts in Toronto in 2002. Margulies conducted a workshop for those in the mental health field as well as those who were consumers of the mental health profession. Lynette has participated in several conferences, workshops, classes and retreats involving the human healing process. From working and learning about the ancient sacred instruments of the Himalayas, to binaural frequency healing of the brain and consequently the rest of the body, mind and soul, she has constantly sought after ways to help herself, and more importantly others, in their healing journeys. Her presentations through music, drama, teaching or heart sharing have enabled Margulies to offer an obvious interconnectedness between her and others and the rest of the Universe.
