Conquest of Space on CD

ALBUM SUMMARY 'The Conquest of Space' is a electric/electronic album meant for hazy nights in dim rooms. Dark, spaced-out and absurdist, 'The Conquest of Space' is meant to be listened to as a whole piece. The songs go from experimental, to rock and metal, into jazz and even some sort of Chinese stuff. Great for headphones, definitly to be played loud. If you like sci-fi and horror films you should get a kick out of this album. If you like bands such as Ministry, The Butthole Surfers, White Zombie and The Fall, Lovehater has some elements of all of them. 'The Conquest of Space' is the first album by NYC band Lovehater, which members include Vangelis (Van) Prime and his wife Clymidia with occasional guitar rhythm and leads by Tim 'T-Mo' Moran. Van sings (sort of), plays theremin, writes the songs, and works the drum sequencer. Clymidia plays lead and rhythm guitar and bass. Their producer is Brian Carlson, which also mixes and writes much of the material with Van. THE Lovehater MANIFESTO At some point, sometime in the distant past, something went wrong with America. It was about the time when the words 'marketing' and 'genius' became irrefutably fused together, making the quintessential oxymoron. Since then everything has been turned upside down and now strange, indecipherable words and phrases like 'Family Values' and 'Home Land Security' haunt societys thoughts as if these vague intentions were somehow concrete solutions that, in order to exist and thrive, merely needed to be uttered aloud and enforced by brutal laws. It was the dawning of something like freedom, but without the unpleasant side-effects. Words became the likes of machine-guns and suicide pacts. Answers to crossword puzzles now came in plastic bottles. This was a golden age. A magical time filled with Macanudo smoke and soaked in micro-brew. Into this repulsive existense...into this meandering decay of wasted human potential...Lovehater was born. Crawling up from the depths of suburbia, Vangelis Prime and his partner Clymidia devised a 5 year plan of psychic strategy to subvert and ignore the prisons of the feebleminded. Their prisons would not be our prisons. Their dreams not our nightmares. Their lies not our truths. Lovehater will be free, at all costs.
