Love Is on on CD

Dateline: Los Angeles At a press conference today, Southern California based band 'Love Nugget' announced they would be the first band in history to attempt a performance at the summit of Mount Everest, the highest peak on the planet. 'We also will be making the attempt without the help of bottled oxygen,' says vocalist Jennifer Gross. 'We're already asking so much of our sherpas; lights, sound, food, drinks. It seemed like too much to add oxygen onto an already overworked, but highly trained crew of climbing sherpas. Gross feels she's ready now for this attempt. Her training includes the album 'The Woman In The Moon' released in Japan, background vocals for various pop trekkers, and high altitude vocals that have helped more than a few corporations reach lofty figures. 'I feel more ready now than ever before all we need is a little good weather.' Drums can be a bit of a problem at high altitudes,' says drummer and percussionist, Mauricio 'Fritz' Lewak. 'We know that it's very likely that drum heads and sticks can shatter at the below freezing temperatures found at the summit - we're currently trying to work that out. I'm confident we'll have a solution before we leave the last base camp for the summit. I'll be wearing gloves too.' Lewak's training for this trek includes three albums with Drums can be a bit of a problem at high altitudes,' says drummer and percussionist, Mauricio 'Fritz' Lewak. 'We know that it's very likely that drum heads and sticks can shatter at the below freezing temperatures (yes he's the only one), two Jackson Browne albums, and years of touring with each. Fritz also has worked with Vonda Sheppard (Ally McBeal), Bonnie Raitt, and on various film and television projects 'I feel I have an edge on this team as far as my experience in Country & Eastern Music,' says guitarist Mark Goldenberg a.k.a. The Happy Hindu. Mark has summited with such stars as Chris Isaak, Peter Frampton, Jackson Browne, and Ziggy Marley. He also crafted the 'surf and Turk' sound for several Bonnie Raitt albums. In fact Mark has worked on many albums produced by mountaineering/climbing pioneer and Love Nugget fan Don Was. He has written and produced tracks himself for Natalie Imbruglia, Jann Arden, Idina Menzel, Jill Sobule, Gus, Kate Ceberrano, and The Eels. 'Tuning will probably be a bit tricky,' adds Mark. 'No one knows how strings will react at such heights but if the wind is blowing hard enough no one will hear it anyway...' 'Making it past the Khumbu Ice Fall should prove challenging with all that gear,' says bass player Kevin McCormick, a veteran of many tours with Melissa Etheridge, Jackson Browne, John Mayall, Nils Lofgren, Roy Buchanan. 'Not to mention I'm deathly afraid of heights,' he adds . McCormick has also produced three Melissa Etheridge albums, a Jackson Browne album, as well as writing songs with them and others including Robben Ford, David Lindley, and The Motels. 'I guess I just won't be looking down much' he adds with a wince. 'We're not quite sure when we're actually going to summit but it's definitely time that someone performed live up there and Love Nugget is going to be the first band to try,' says Jen Gross. 'It's going to require real team work, and that shouldn't be a problem. By co-writing all the songs we've really developed a trust that will enable us to push each other past our limits.' 'Oh...and of course there'll be a cybercast....'
