El Fino Arte de la Venganza on CD

Los Alamos began playing together towards the end of 2004, less with a defining vision of what they thought a band should sound like, than with a violent need to create music as much as possible with like-minded people. Their influences include Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Spaceman 3, The Cramps, John Fahey, Ennio Morricone, Love, and Johnny Cash, among others... Coming from backgrounds as disparate as bluegrass, hardcore, punk, blues, and klezmer, their music reconciles the differences between these genres while at the same time creating something definitively new. In 2005, Los Alamos released their first studio album, the self-released 'No Se Menciona la Soga en Casa del Ahorcado', which led Rolling Stone to dub them 'The most important new band in Argentina', among other critical praise. Several months later, the Brazilian magazine Bizz classified the album as one of the 13 best debut albums of the moment, along with other artists such as Arctic Monkeys, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, and Wolfmother. The following year, the band recorded a follow-up EP named 'Emboscada' that included both covers and live songs, and was simultaneously released in Brazil and Argentina. After the launch, Los Alamos began to tour extensively, first throughout Argentina, and, later, Uruguay and Chile. The year ended with a show alongside Patti Smith, Daft Punk, Tv on the Radio, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and the Beastie Boys (Festival BUE) as well as a private show with Devendra Banahrt. 2007 began with the recording of a soundtrack for the American film Hide by K.C. Bascombe, followed by a show with The Evens, the new band composed up of Ian McKaye (Fugazi) and Amy Farina (The Warmers). After this, they went on tour through Brazil with Jamaican dub legend Lee "Scratch" Perry and the French band The Film. After more touring throughout Latin America and Europe, including a show with Calexico, 'El Fino Arte de la Venganza' is the culmination of over three years of non-stop work, exploding with the raw power that their live performances are so acclaimed for.
