Pure Soul Music on CD

This album includes some Originals recordings plus some of the greatest R&B-Soul cover songs ever recorded by some of the world's greatest recording Artists. Lord Luther Luther McDaniels aka Lord Luther was born in Panola County Texas, His mother was a domestic worker and his father was a professional gambler. And he was singing professionally [gospel] at age 12. 4 Deuces met and was formed by Luther McDaniels aka Lord Luther. Other member of the group were [military] stationed at nearby Fort ord CA. Noticing 3 GI's huddled around a juke box at a popular Restaurant/Lounge singing along with the songs being played on a Juke Box. After listening to their great gospel harmonies, we became aquatinted and the rest is history. We started singing gospel in local churches and later R&B. I wrote, arranged "WPLJ" acronym for [White Port and Lemon Juice]. We later went to Music City Recording Studio in Berkley CA and recorded 'WPLJ' that became a #1 Best Seller instantly, nationally and international. We followed with 'Down It Went' I wrote and we recorded a jingle for Italian Swiss wine, then 'The Nest Is Warm' (but the goose is gone). The group performed concerts throughout northern California. Members include: Luther McDaniels [lead singer] James Dunbar 1st [tenor] - Orvis Teamer [baritone] Henry Shufford [Bass]. The group disbanded 1956 when the military members were discharged from the army. I continued recording and performing as Lord Luther, wrote and recorded "Just One More Chance" and "I Can't Get Your out Of My Mind" and "Someone Somewhere" and 'Tough' and 'Two of a Kind' followed with many other recordings. I Performed night club and concerts throughout the West Coast and Mid-West and performeed on TV shows. I left the music scene in 1974 and opened a night club / Disco / Restaurants / Talent Agency in Salinas and San Jose CA. My first recording in over 40 years and much more to come. Lord Luther.
