Love Songs for Totalitarians on CD

The year is 1984. George Orwell's doomed anyman Winston Smith gets out of bed and turns on the radio. This is what he hears. This is what everyone hears. There is only one station on Airstrip One. Using a vintage FM synthesizer and other period technology, Leo Daedalus has complied substantially with state-sanctioned 80s synth-pop protocols. Love Songs for Totalitarians puts the party back in the Party with a subversive blend of existential disco, Russian Constructivism and top-level lyric encryption. Will the censors catch references to K********, D****** and T*********? Inevitably. But in the meantime the Ministry of Leisure is calling the album "A doubleplusgood resource for every citizen's after-hours reëducation." A man of innumerable hats, Leo Daedalus has written, performed and recorded with hyperobscure bands such as The Sixes, The Adding Machine, Rancid Maxxis and Velveteen Underwater Slumber Party II. Plans for Mr. Daedalus's next album, working title 'The Truth About Mice', include at least one song about an hydraulic apparatus.
