Minister Lawrence H. Rush was born in a small town in South Carolina to Bishop Charles and Mrs. Patricia Rush - both devout believers in God's Word. The second eldest of eight children, Lawrence's knowledge and love for Christ came as a result of his strict biblical teachings. At an early age, he began his perilous quest as a steward to touch the lives of the saved and unsaved through music. He led his first song at his home church (Bethlehem Apostolic Church of Christ) which resulted in a comment from an aunt on his "very nice voice." Lawrence's confidence increased as he continued to lead more songs in church, on the local junior high school chorus, and on the high school gospel choir. At the age of thirteen, Minister Rush began a quest to tackle the keys of the piano. By the age of fifteen, Minister Rush had written his first song entitled, "No Coward Soldier," and co-founded a new choir within his own church. Throughout the years Minister Rush realized that musical scripting and composition was his outlet and means to express his relationship with God. Rush later began another quest--a quest to record his music in order to share his gift with others. Many obstacles arose during his attempt to achieve this quest; but not one obstacle was great enough to defeat his purpose of sharing the joy of the Lord with others. In 2006, Lawrence was blessed with the opportunity to record with Javier Dykes and Fellowship of Praise, a choir based in Columbia, SC. One of the tracks, "He's the Only One," was written by Minister Rush. Birthed out of personal experiences, the song served as his testimony of deliverance and the way God proved himself by doing those things which many would consider impossible. Minister Rush's lyrics are not merely words, but yet a real look at what is, has or will come to pass. Rush is definitely a Gospel artist on the rise; not because of profound musical lyrics--but because of his dedication to spread the word of the Lord through song. Minister Rush states, "I am looking forward to ministering to hundreds, thousands, and even millions. I want everyone to know that before I am an artist, husband, or (possibly) a father one day, I am what God called me to be; and that is a minister of His Word. I pray that my music ministry will touch many lives, but I pray even more that someone will change their life and develop a mind to do what\'s right in accordance to God's Word."
