And the Tree Was Happy on CD

Bryan Ferguson (guitar and vocals), James Callaghan (bass), Mark Evangelista (drums). Rising from the heart of the San Fernando Valley, come three musicians whose influences include Nirvana, Social Distortion, Radiohead, and The Beatles just to name a few. One might try to classify LAST FALLING as the newest members of a young crop of musicians who base their style and sound on imitating their predecessors; however, what makes this electrifying trio unique is their ability to write powerful, heart-heavy songs that exemplify and exploit their honesty which can only be found far above and beyond today's tar pits of talent. Growing up in a house filled with waves of music seeping through floorboards and bass frequencies resonating from the walls, it's no wonder how singer/guitarist, Bryan Ferguson, discovered his dream and why he started singing at the age of three. Under the influence of his father/on-air radio personality, Charlie Tuna, Bryan developed a unique taste for music at a very young age. His memories are still vivid; singing into a microphone for the first time along to Van Halen songs, listening to his father's radio station on the way to pre-school (trying to figure out if his Dad was actually 'inside' the car radio), to taking drum lessons for a year when he was just five years old. At thirteen life seemed to change indefinetly when he played his first guitar. After learning all his favorite Nirvana songs by ear, he began to write, play, and sing his own songs. The song Mantra, written at the age of sixteen, was one of those songs. His family knew that it was only a matter of time until that first taste of music developed into a hunger. LAST FALLING's strong rhythm section supports the vocal and guitar melodies, rounding out the band's distinctive sound. James Callaghan brings the pain to the low-end rumble in LAST FALLING. A veteran L.A. scenester of eight years, James first picked up the bass guitar after a grade school chum's band asked him to fill the void left by their former bassist. Learning to play by placing the headstock of his Mexican Jazz bass against his bedroom wall, he developed his own unique style of playing, unvarnished by outside theories or distractions. Relying heavily on a solid mix of stage presence and unrelenting melody, James adds his own unique thumbprint to every musical nuance created by LAST FALLING. The most recent addition to Last Falling, Mark Evangelista, is the only drummer capable of handling the dynamic style and feel the band requires. Mark makes sure that each powerful drum hit is felt by every last audience member from the front of the stage to the back of the bar. From a whisper to a roar, his dynamic touch sets him apart amid a scene saturated with lightweight imposters. Since the band's inception in March 2003, LAST FALLING has generated a loyal and growing fan base due to their aggressive promotion tactics at shows and online; notably passing out one thousand free home-brew cds of their EP, CALLUS HEART, to self-producing and distributing their latest EP, ...AND THE TREE WAS HAPPY. Currently emersed in their latest project, a 16 track record to be released late 2005, anticipation is felt among LF fans as the band intends to release the most creative and well thought-out project yet. So whether you go looking for the music of LAST FALLING or not, chances are that it will find it's way to you.
