Tacos for Two on CD

Lalo Guerrero was born in 1916 in, Tucson, Arizona, and recently passed away. The world lost a great musical legend. Yet his music lives on. Lalo acquired a love for music from his parents. The focal point of his music was always his family and the struggle of the Chicano community. His mother taught him to play the guitar at an early age and in the 40's lalo distinguished himself as one of the main music makers of the Pachuco era. He was a musician and musical composer of many boleros (ballads), boggie or swing tunes and of course his loved parodies. He was one of the first to present his music to the bilingual world. And in some tunes he sings tri lingual (English, Spanish and Calo). The list of honors bestowed on Lalo are numerous; The National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. He was declared by the Smithsonian Institute as a National Folk Treasure. His name is in the Tejano Hall of Fame and was the recipient of the prestigious Chicano Music Award.
