Ladyfinger on CD

Created by legendary guitarist from P.M. BULLDOZER, Pat Madison assembled Ladyfinger in the mid 1990's deep out of the dregs of Durham, North Carolina along with writing partner and lead singer Ken Daye. Through many trials, bass player Troy Cole, of JAAFAR, was taken in bringing drummer extraordinaire Doug Karger, a fusion funk master. Thus giving birth to a stellar ensemble destined for what would later become local myth. Pat Madison's guitar work drifts easily from thundering rock & roll riffs to melodic hooks, to nasty blues, to sublime improvisation. Taken inspiration from Jimi Hendrix, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, James Brown, Buddy Guy, Neil Young, and Prince, the song writing contributes to Ladyfinger's ability to cross over listening boundaries and connects with a wide diverse audience. The musical guru Doug Karger with his pop vocabulary and fusion/jazz blood hooks the music into proper alignment. The drums effortlessly appear as extensions of his consciousness. Vocalist Ken Daye: do I hear Marvin Gaye, Lenny Kravitz, or is it Prince? With such a deep root in "good" R&B, it is amazing how individual and unique this singer has become. Featuring Troy Cole on bass, bringing the apparently background function of the bass into a more dominant role as the old funk/disco jazz-fusion dictates. These recordings, taken as snapshots over the course of a productive autumn, were recorded at Captured Live Studios and Groovy Cellar in Durham NC. Engineered and produced by Troy Cole, along with Chris Chamis, and Brad Newell. This collection is well worth the purchase, and sure to not be a let down on any level.
