Push Button Seduction-2 Day Krush EP on CD

The Lab's track 'Remember' has been nominated for 'Best Rap Song' for the '2002 Just Plain Folks Music Awards'!!! Music Monthly Review : October 2002 Vol.19, No.10 Issue #217 Whatever happened to Hip-Hop,raw and Uncut? Nowadays it seems like emcee's graffiti, B-Boys and DJ's scratching on tables have been replaced by the distorted image of Thugs rocking Iced out chains, driving Bentlys on twenties with a bad chic riding shotgun. Well you get the message. With the exception of the extreme minority of authentic artists who have capriciously managed to leak into the mainstream, Hip-Hop is just a millisecond away from flat lining. But all Hip-Hop enthusiasts fret not, because there is revolution being born. Join in the revitalization of Hip-Hop with The Lab. The Lab almost epitomizes two very key fundamentals of the artistic culture we call Hip-Hop, lyrics and beats. These three cats (Speak EZ, Phanta L.E.A.F., and DJ Oso Fresh) flaunt their lyrical prowess on every track of their Push Button Seduction * The 2Day Krush EP. For starters they cook up some vicious lyrical brew potent enough to inebriate even the most exigent of rhyme buffs on 'Raw Hip-Hop' with some notable guest spots by Boo Boo and Re-up. Next is 'Easy Steppin' a smooth track where Speak EZ and Phanta spit rigorous verses over a mellowed out beat. Speak EZ starts the track off with a crafty rhyme, 'Astronomical with skills that are phenomenal/We're blowin' up barometers with beats you can't help noddin' to/Applaudin' you for recognition of ignition/Spit easy rock rendition livin' a life of nonfiction/....' 'Remember' featuring Suter Kane is another smooth cut where Lab takes you through a historical look back on Hip-Hop's past to present. An instant favorite is 'True Colors'. Talk about ripping mics, Phanta and Speak do some damaging on this cut while calling out fake emcees and amateurs in the process. Without a captivating beat 'Supreme Speed' is still an admirable track. The stunning delivery and rapid wordplay grab ears instantly. Straight from the Hi-C Mix Tape is 'Freestyle' track featuring Camile and Seez Mics. The beat and rhymes are in one word, ill. Hands down, this is easily one of the best tracks of the album. 'Pirate Radio', the concluding track leaves the album off on a good note. The idea of taking over the airwaves has probably gone through the minds of all fans of the Underground circuit at least once. This track is like a manual bringing the idea of taking over the radio to life. Push Button Seduction* The 2Day Krush is a laudable independent release. The only fall of the album is it's briefness. A seven track set is like a teaser to avid listeners. Nonetheless, The Lab has an eminent sound, which is the seldom seen and rarely heard pure Hip-Hop, ya'll. Get ready because The L-A-B is bringing it back. Andrea 'Auracle' Wilson BIO The importance of Hip-Hop culture has been proven over the years due to it's effects on the masses. Just like religion has the power to cause people to devote their lives to following a strict code of ethics and conduct, Hip-Hop has done the same for these two young men. Meet HIP-HOP'S CULTURAL MONKS! Mc's Speak EZ, and Phanta L.E.A.F. have devoted their lives in the pursuit of the Perfect Beat, Tightest Rhyme, and Awe Inspiring Graffiti Piece to reach their Zen.....Rawest of Hip-Hop. We give you THE LAB! Submerging themselves in the four elements of the culture. These two have managed to earn the respect of the underground with their lyrical sermons and neck snapping Hymns. Both focusing their teachings on content, this practice allows them to express their visions given to them in their meditations while listening to the great teachers of their faith. The lessons of THE TEACHER KRS,and the example of THE MICROPHONE FIEND RAKIM has taught and granted them the power to rock the congregation into a trance like frenzy, moving them all to wanting more. Just like any students of a faith they humbly work diligently to one day be considered two of the great ones....... knowing the people WILL RECOGNIZE THE TRUTH AND BE DELIVERED.
