This Is on CD

Kostakithegreek is a multi talented solo artist who is bringing his musicianship to the table with his release of 'This Is'. On this debut CD, you will be blown away with his ability to play Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboard, Electric Saxophone, and to Sing. This is not to mention he wrote every song himself. As a young boy he listened to classic rock like The Who at home. Later The Police and Sting became huge influences. Hearing Sting's jazz tinged style, he discovered the likes of Branford Marsalis, Sting's sax player. This led to an obsession of that instrument. Kostakithegreek turned to Jazz and followed a path of higher musicianship and study in Jazz. Artists like Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Art Blakey, and Wynton Marsalis introduced kostakithegreek to an incredible level of musicianship. After years of practicing and intense work, kostakithegreek got his degree in Jazz Studies. The Only thing was, he still had a deeply rooted love for rock. Slowly he began rediscovering his roots. Listening to bands like U2, Pearl Jam, and The Cure led him to search out newer bands to listen to. While searching he began writing his own songs. Based on the sounds he was listening to, he would attempt to write what was inside him. He found that his ability to write lyrics was not only surprising, but also rewarding. He also found that his lifelong obsession with music had led him to being able to play many instruments really well. Each instrument played on 'This Is' was played by kostakithegreek. His performance is energetic, impressive and rewarding to listen to. Songwriting is a talent that is based on years of listening and understanding. It is possible to write something fresh and unique, but at the same time it is impossible to ignore the sounds you have heard. Kostakithegreek puts his love of Rock and knowledge of music into everything he writes. Listeners will easily hear influences from The Who, The Cure, and even The Killers, while clearly hearing a fresh new sound in kostakithegreek. On 'This Is', lyrically he is able to write love songs that everyone can relate to while also including songs with social commentary that make you listen and think. This brings to mind writers like Leonard Cohen, Sting, Joni Mitchell, and Bono. Kostakithegreek knows he has a long career ahead of him and that it may not include commercial success. This is unimportant to him. His aim is to stay true to his creativity and to produce what is meant to come out of him. If 'This IS' is any indication, he will be pleasing listeners for many years to come.
