Description

Texas Country Blues Preacher on CD

On the other end of Lonesome Guitarist Street - We pause for a moment to relish the quiet, nearly whispered rural blues of KM WILLIAMS and his gorgeous album,TEXAS COUNTRY BLUES PREACHER,which sounds suspiciously like it was recorded at a radio station (could be KNON,a Dallas community station). Williams technique is shockingly simple;a basic strummed National Steel, occasionally dressed up with a primitive slide, and a painfully reserved high-register tenor. There is a timeless quality to the down-and-out testimony of'How I Lost My Child' and an almost diffident since of redemption in 'The Lord's Been Good To Me'. This isn't gospel by any stretch, but clearly it has it's eyes cast skyward, and it's just about as blue as it gets. Very intimate, almost disturbing.(3 Stars). - Dave Kirby, BLUES ACCESS Magazine, issue #48, Winter 2002. This CD is the pure, raw, unadulterated Texas Country Blues of KM Williams just bearing his soul. These Country Blues are just about as raw as it gets. Pick one up and See!
