Kilmore Place on CD

Kilmore Place is an alternative rockpop quintet, with a style that falls somewhere between Matthew Good Band and the mellower tones of Coldplay. Their music is characterized by deft, tension building verses that quietly lead the way for the wide open, endorphine releasing choruses that the band is notorious for. Lush tones and strong melodies are always at the forefront, but they do not overshadow the band's ability to think 'outside the box'. This is not a band that is merely trying to fit in. The sound they create is distinct, and cannot be easily lumped in with the hordes of watered down bands you often hear today. Kilmore Place was born in the summer of 2006, when founding members Ryan Bacchus (vocals/guitar) and Bryce Wagner (piano/keys) began a series of auditions that would eventually lead to the final five formation they have now. Greg England (electric guitars) was the first to arrive, bringing to the table an extremely diverse and spacious sound that is crucial to the wide musical landscapes that the band strives to achieve. A.J. Badali (drums) came next, with an enthusiasm and passion that is the driving force in both the creative and live process. Marcus Abramzik (bass) came in as the final piece of the puzzle, with a strong affinity for groove oriented bass lines and an acute attention to detail and rhythmic accentuation. Kilmore Place exploded into the live scene in the summer of 2007 under the working name 'the manic project'. The chemistry the band found within themselves and their audience is undeniable. Quickly establishing themselves performing alongside up and coming acts such as Connor McGuire and The Painted Birds, the band recently landed themselves an opening slot with the established rockers of Econoline Crush this past February. Their anticipated 5 song EP was released on that same night, a beautiful piece recorded at Manic Studios. With their sights set high, the band is currently in the midst of spring/summer tour plans, and will surely be a band to look out for in 2008.
