In a Quiet Place on CD

After graduating from the St. louis Institute of Music and a brief stint of teaching, Ken Palmer left St. Louis to study organ performance with organist Herbert Manfred Hoffmann at Frankfurt Germany. During his three year stay, he performed organ recitals, sang and recorded with the Frankfurter Kantatenkreis and performed with members of the the Hessicher Rundfunk Orchester. He financed his studies by tours through Germany, France and Spain as music director and pianist for the Gisela gunther and Heinz Schneider Agencies. He returned to his home in St. louis and joined the St. Louis Jazz Quartet. After appearances with the quartet in concert with the St. louis Symphony Orchestra, he was invited back on many occasions to appear as guest pianist with the orchestra under such conductors as Walter Susskind, Henry mancini, Richard Hayman and Leonard Slatkin to name a few. He holds bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees in composition and organ performance from the former St. Louis Institute of Music and Washington University ( St. Louis). He was recently appointed Minister of Music at Unity Christ Church. He composes, concertizes, and records in the the St. Louis Area. Endorsements; "Ken Palmer is an original that shows spirit and imagination in his work" Harold Blumenfeld - Composer " It has been my privilege to introduce Ken Palmer's works during my recital tours throughout the US and Latin America. His pieces are well received wherever I take them." Manuel Ramos, Violinist, St. Louis Symphony Orchestra "I have known Ken Palmer's work for many years and consider it to be outstanding." Leonard Slatkin, Music Director, National Symphony Orchestra, Washington D.C Music inspires and lifts the soul. Scholars and Philosophers throughout the world all agree that only music can do what music does. It is my first language. While composing, like ideas find their way through my mind's ear and settle into a coherent audible reality called musical composition. You'll hear snippets of classical, country, latin, pop, and sometimes shades of east Indian music. My writing and playing has a improvised feel to it as I use a modern classical approach in a very relaxed way. You'll know my sound once you've heard it. Some refer to me as 'The Improv-essor." Music making is the most rewarding, challenging and awe inspiring gifts of all life.Through thick and thin it remains my best friend ENJOY!!
