Sally Go Round the Sun on CD

Winner of 2008 Parents' Choice Silver Honours! Songs and Rhymes From the Parent -Child Mother Goose Program Kathy Reid Naiman has once again collaborated with the Parent-Child Mother Goose Program to create two CDs of music from parent-child programs throughout Canada and beyond. 'Sally Go Round The Sun' is a collection of songs and rhymes to use through the day and 'Sally Go Round The Moon' is a selection of Quiet songs and lullabies to soothe your baby all through the night. Kathy is joined by a stellar cast of musicians including Ken, Chris and Ben Whiteley, Anne Lederman, Anne Lindsay, Arnie and Hannah Naiman, Mary Colmer, Debbie Carroll, Bucky Berger, Dennis Pendrith and William Carn. Both of these recordings were produced by Ken Whiteley whose production credits include Raffi, Fred Penner, Nancy Cassidy, Debbie Carroll and many, many others. M0702 Review: Kathy Reid-Naiman has gathered thirty-three songs and rhymes that draw from traditional resources, favorite songs shared by the families with whom she has worked, and a smattering of original songs that round out this delightful collection. Ranging from well known ditties like 'Dance to Your Daddy,' 'Shoofly' and 'Mama's Little Baby Loves Short'nin' Bread' to regional favorites such as 'Mix the Bannock' (an Alberta version of a traditional Scottish rhyme), international songs as in 'Here Goes the Rabbit' (from a Greek rhyme), to seven very pleasing original tunes such as the joyful dressing song 'Button It Up,' set to a New Orleans Ragtime arrangement, these songs are well suited for cultivating a sense of and appreciation for rhythms and rhymes. Reid-Naiman's fine, gentle, and child friendly voice is backed by a stellar cast of musicians including Ken, Chris and Ben Whiteley, Anne Lederman, Anne Lindsay, Arnie and Hannah Naiman, Mary Colmer, Debbie Carroll, Bucky Berger, Dennis Pendrith and William Carn.
