Safire Sky on CD

"Rabbis" and "Rock n' Roll" are things that usually don't go together. Did you ever see a Talmudic scholar who delves into Kabalistic wisdom in the original Aramaic text belting out a real rockin' tune? Well Rabbi Karmi Ingber does just that. Ingber has synthesized his deep life lessons with his unique musical expression. His CD entitled "SaFire Sky" weaves through an unfolding of rock sounds as it melds rock with some blues dobra fills, an occasional jazz bass line and real kickin' guitar licks. The instrumentation is amazingly varied ranging from a country mandolin to Ingber's folksy harmonica, and believe it or not, the Israel Philharmonic; and yet it all has a single unified feel which makes it "Classic Ingber". The musicianship, arrangements, and production of the CD are outstanding and still Ingber brings it all to a different level with his lyrics. Reminiscent of the rock poetry of Bob Dylan, Ingber takes it one step further by drawing from his knowledge of the human psyche and the mystic realm to touch deep into your soul. Karmi Ingber was born and bred in New York. He attended N.Y.U. and pursued his creative side with music and dramatic writing, while simultaneously sating his academic yearnings with psychological and philosophical studies. Living in Greenwich Village, Ingber got his start in the music scene in Village clubs but soon took his guitar and quest on the road, traveling and playing throughout the European continent. He arrived in the land of Israel where his spiritual longings took on a new dimension and he began to throw himself into the ancient texts to access timeless wisdom. This experience just pushed Ingber's musical aspirations higher. While living in Israel, he joined the Diaspora Yeshiva Band and formed his own group called Remez with an ex-Lynrd Skynrd band member who was also in Israel at the time. "SaFire Sky" is Ingber's second release; his first CD of original material was a highly acclaimed recording entitled "Message in a Dream". Karmi Ingber is definitely an eclectic figure. Besides for his music and his rabbinical position, Ingber is renowned as a counselor and a dynamic lecturer. His talks are exciting, fun and inspiring experiences, where the deepest concepts are made accessible. Ingber's hobbies, which include tai chi, shiatsu and outdoor sports, give him, his music, and his message a very unique and meaningful approach.
