On My Own on CD

Singer/songwriter Karla Causey grew up steeped in song among the music-rich foothills of North Carolina. While her style can best be described as a smooth blend of folk, blues and country, Causey's rich and soulful jazz voice expresses her deep passion for all genres of music as she easily accompanies herself on acoustic guitar. In the fall of 2005, Causey recorded her debut album entitled "Charlie's Song," which includes three of her original works, "No More of Us," "Bad Credit" and the title track "Charlie's Song." On a beautiful Sunday afternoon in September of 2006, Karla Causey recorded her second album, of all-original tracks, entitled, 'On My Own.' The 12 tracks include songs on dreams, life, love, heartache, and repentance. Causey began her musical career as just a vocalist, but quickly became intrigued by the melodic sounds of a mandolin. Shortly after receiving one as a Christmas gift, she began joining local jam sessions. It was here that people requested her performance at local venues. This was also the time in which Causey realized her dream of playing acoustic guitar. 'My older brother showed me G, C, and D...which is all you really need to know!' Causey explains. 'From that point on, I couldn't put it down!' Now, at the ripe old age of 19, Karla Causey is embarking upon a life-long journey of music. Music is her passion and she plans on pursuing the dreams she writes about in her songs.
