Saturday Night at Hamiltons on CD

'These are two musicians who really enjoy exchanging ideas. Listening to them play is like hearing a wonderful dialogue.' Spencer Lathrop- C'ville Weekly Clarinetist Dave Kannensohn and guitarist Peter Richardson bring you a souvenir from their weekly performances at Hamilton's at First & Main Restaurant in Charlottesville,VA. For over four years, this jazz duo has been delighting locals and visitors with expressive interpretations of favorite Brazilian, Spanish, and Jazz standards. A professional musician since 1930, Dave Kannensohn grew up playing tenor saxophone with big bands throughout the midwest. He was also a member of a radio staff and performed in theater pit orchestras. Clarinet became his main instrument after being influenced by greats such as : Benny Goodman & Artie Shaw. Throughout the years, Dave performed with many ensembles and developed his warm legato sound. Currently, he continues to perform and evolve as a musical force on the scene. Originally from Washington D.C., Peter Richardson began a formal study of the guitar at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts. He then continued his studies in Brazil, out west at the University of Northern Arizona and back in the nation's capital on the jazz and latin music scene. He resides in Charlottesville,VA and is the founder of the Richardson Guitar Studio and several ensembles.
