Live in Tokyo on CD

Sweet New Orleans jazz with a hard Southern Rock beat. Raw and dirty, sweet and pure. Fusion of old and old. Back to the beginning. Looking for the power in the music. Kiyoshi's guitar and Tamura's piano supply it. I just get things going and ride along on their power, controlled, pure power. That's the music I was going for when we played this concert at a Buddhist temple in Tokyo. Buddhists seem to like it raw, so I thought I'd give it back to them, and what better styles to do so than a mix of New Orleans jazz, so sweet and pure, with Southern Rock, so mean and pure, and both of them exuding the power that can be in the music when it's played right. That's what I'm always looking for. I found it in this concert, and I wanted to share it. I wanted other people to hear Kiyoshi's guitar, Tamura's piano, Hobson's tambourine, and maybe even my humble rhythm guitar and vocals. At first I wasn't going to let the recording out. I missed a verse of Georgia On My Mind, and forgot some of the words on Basin Street Blues, a song I've sung a thousand times. Then I listened again, and I thought that this concert was too good not to share. So, I'm putting it out there. Hope you enjoy it. Play it loud.
