Christoph Müller-Stosch studied trumpet at the Conservatory of Music in Cologne with Urban Agnas and natural trumpet at the Sweelinck-Conservatory in Amsterdam, Netherlands with Friedemann Immer. He graduated cum laude in 2001 and was the winner of the trumpet competition of the Hohnen-Foundation in 2001 and 2004. He played with the Cologne Philharmonic and Opera, the Classical Philharmonic of Bonn, and the Chamber Philharmonic of Cologne. He is also an advocate for new music, which led him to perform with musikFabrik and the Art Ensemble NRW. Concert tours brought him through Germany, Italy, Belgium, France, China and the United States. Johannes Müller-Stosch received his DMA from the Eastman School in Rochester, New York where he studied conducting and organ. After winning the coveted Strader Organ Competition in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1997, he received two Master of Music degrees in organ performance and orchestral conducting at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) on full-tuition scholarship. In 2001 he became the conducting assistant to Paavo Järvi at the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and to James Conlon at the Cincinnati May Festival. Since then he has worked as guest conductor and member of the conducting and coaching staff of the Opera Theatre in Lucca, Italy. His interests in early music led him to study with Ton Koopman in Ottobeuren, Germany and concert tours as soloist and collaborative artist took him throughout Germany, Italy, Chile and Japan.
