Fashion has always been a great form of self expression. However, those who express themselves more wildly have been forced to swallow a heavy dose of scrutiny. Knowing this, I decided to write 'Clean Slacks' in an attempt to prevent the judgment from being passed. While feeling that blood has been shed in a war waged to profit from oil, I decided to write the aptly titled 'Blood for Oil.' Also, another goal in writing this song was to persuade young people to exercise their right to vote. 'I Have a Dream' is a song about the racism directed towards me as a white musician in a black dominated genre. The moral of the song is, regardless of a musicians race, one should be able to exercise their artistic muscles in any genre. Over time society has unfortunately placed skateboarders and criminals in the same category. Due to this misplacement, skateboarders have been banned in several major metropolitan areas. I thought music would be the perfect platform to raise awareness about this issue hence, 'Skateboarding Is Not a Crime.' As I've grown and matured, I've looked back on my younger years only to regret the debauchery I was involved in. So, in an effort to prevent others from leading a similar life I wrote 'Young and Dumb.'
